We have a proven track record of recovering compensation for GMB members and their families and details of some of our successes are set out below:

• Mr P from Stockport suffered a broken finger when he was trying to move some heavy drums which were greasy and soaked in rainwater.  He made a claim for compensation through the Union legal assistance scheme and received a settlement of £2,000.

• Mr J from Wigan had not been given the necessary training by his employers and so, when he fell out of his vehicle and suffered a broken wrist, he made a claim for compensation through the GMB.  Thanks to the legal services to which he was entitled, Mr J received compensation of £5,000.

• When Mr J from Preston was not provided with the necessary tools to do his job, he suffered an hernia.  With assistance from GMB legal services, he was able to secure a compensation pay out of £4,000. 

• Mr S from Chorley asked for legal assistance when his wife slipped as the result of a spill of milk in her local supermarket. After a claim by Simpsons through the Union legal services scheme, Mrs S received a settlement of £2,500 for the bumps and bruises which she had suffered in the accident.
